Jesus Fed Over 5000

Everywhere Jesus went, large crowds followed Him, because they had seen the miracles He had performed and had also seen Him healing many sick people.

One day, Jesus and His disciples decided to be alone, so they crossed over to the other side of the lake. However, soon a large crowd followed them, and Jesus stopped to teach and heal the sick.

Jesus lifted His eyes and saw the large crowd coming unto Him, he asked Philip where they could buy bread to feed them. Philip told Him that even 200 penny worth of bread was not even sufficient to feed this crowd of 5000 men besides the women and the children.

Andrew, one of His disciples, told Jesus that there was a boy with 5 loaves of bread and two fish only. Jesus asked His disciples to make them all sit down on the grass. Jesus took the boy’s lunch , after giving thanks, He handed the bread and the fish to the disciples to distribute to the people. The disciples did what Jesus told them.

Everyone there were filled and got as much as they would. When all the people had finished eating, Jesus told His disciples to gather up the fragments that remain. The disciples gathered them together and filled up 12 basketfuls of food which were left over! The people were all amazed and wanted to take him by force, to make Him a king, He departed into a mountain himself, alone.

JESUS WAS SENT BY GOD TO BE THE SAVIOUR, TO BRING MEN INTO THE KINGDOM OF GOD, BUT NOT TO COMMAND ARMIES AND CONQUER THRONES.
